About this program

The Indigenous Outreach Stream of the NRC Outreach Initiative funds organizations for science- or innovation-based initiatives by and for Indigenous peoples, with strategic priorities including building relationships with Indigenous researchers, advancing reconciliation through STEM collaboration, bridging knowledge systems, and increasing participation of Indigenous peoples in STEM. Eligibility and assessment criteria are identical to the main Outreach Initiative, with the requirement that activities be focused toward Indigenous STEM individuals or topics. Applications are accepted semi-annually on February 10 and October 10.
