What counts as an "application"?
Each grant application you create in the platform counts as one. The free tier allows 1 per month. Paid plans have unlimited applications.
How does the CRA charity discount work?
If you're a registered CRA charity with annual revenue under $500K, you qualify for the $19/mo Charity Rate. It takes two steps: choose the Charity Rate and sign up with your CRA registration number, then check out. We check the number against the CRA List of Charities while you sign up.
What is the SR&ED module?
The Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED) module helps Canadian businesses structure their R&D claims for the federal SR&ED tax incentive program. Available on SME Build and Scale plans.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Sign up with your name and email, or with Google, and the Free plan has no time limit. You enter card details only when you choose a paid plan.
Where is my data stored, and is it used to train AI?
Your account data is stored in a Canadian database. AI features send the relevant text to Google Gemini, with Anthropic Claude as a backup, for processing. Neither uses your content to train its models, and neither do we.
Does Happy Grants submit applications for me?
No. It finds, scores and drafts. You review and edit every answer, and nothing is ever sent to a funder on your behalf.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your billing settings at any time. You keep access until the end of your billing period.
